Akira platform version 1.99.24 is available

October 19, 2026

Akira platform version 1.99.24 has been released (tagged at 1.99.24.20261019113915.3905f4638c). This is in a series of releases made from the 1.99 development branch.

The following are release notes for Akira, Loop, and Dora 1.99.24.

Akira

Web interface maintenance

The web interface's browser-side dependency packages have been updated as part of routine maintenance.

Loop

GPU-accelerated cryptography performance

Loop's Vulkan GPU-accelerated cryptography engine has received substantial performance improvements. RSA and ECDSA P-256 and ECDSA P-384 signing and verification now perform much better. Benchmarks of the various algorithms can be found on the Loop webpage.

Security and diagnostics

Sensitive signing data is cleared more consistently from GPU buffers after use. More detailed GPU performance timings are available to help investigate signing and verification throughput.

DNSSEC tools and maintenance

The dnssec-signzone(1) and dnssec-verify(1) manpages now explain their default worker counts correctly. Compiler warnings in DNS utilities and cryptographic acceleration support have been addressed.

Dora

There are no Dora-specific release notes for version 1.99.24.
